Is bathing fee included in the Blue Lagoon tour price?
Blue Lagoon bathing fee (entrance fee) is not included in our Blue Lagoon tour price. The bathing fee has to be paid separately. This fee changes seasonally. If you would like to know what the bathing fee is when you take the tour, please contact us at iceland@icelandexcursions.is.
How far from Keflavik International Airport is the Blue Lagoon?
The Blue Lagoon is 20 km from the airport; it takes about 20 minutes to drive there. With our tour AH28 Blue Lagoon Direct from Keflavík Airport we will bring you safely there. After the visit to the Blue Lagoon we will take you to your hotel in Reykjavík on one of our regularly scheduled departures. We will take care of your luggage while you enjoy the amenities the Blue Lagoon has to offer. How far from Reykjavík is the Blue Lagoon? The Blue Lagoon is 50 km from the capital, Reykjavík. When we take a tour to the Blue Lagoon, where do you store our luggage?
While you relax in the milky white waters of the Blue Lagoon, your luggage is safely stored in one of our busses. If you do not want to rent a bathing suit and towel at the Blue Lagoon, please take these items with you in a seperate bag. You can put them into your suitcase at the airport.
How long can I stay in the Blue Lagoon?
On tours AH18 Blue Lagoon to Keflavik Airport, AH28 Blue Lagoon from Keflavík Airport and AH29 Blue Lagoon Direct you can stay as long as you like at the Blue Lagoon. Choose a departure time from Reykjavík or Keflavík Airport that suits your needs and any of the departures from the Blue Lagoon to Reykjavík or Keflavík Airport. Some of our combination tours also offer flexible stays at the Blue Lagoon while only one departure is available on others. Please refer to the individual tour descriptions regarding to see what applies to the tour you are interested in. The bathing fee is not included in our tour price. You can stay as long as you like in the Blue Lagoon. There are no time restrictions on the bathing fee.
Where can I book your tours?

What are your departure times from the Blue Lagoon?
When you have finished enjoying the amenities the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you can take any of the below busses back to Reykjavík or to Keflavík International Airport. You do not have to book these departures in advance. Please inform the bus driver on your way to the Blue Lagoon which departure you plan to take after your visit. Do you have morning tours from Keflavík Airport to the Blue Lagoon?
Only in the summer months. For more details see our Blue Lagoon time schedule. Our Blue Lagoon tour that starts at Keflavík Airport is tour AH28 Blue Lagoon from Keflavík Airport. Departure times from Keflavík Airport are at 16:30 and 17:30. We do, however, offer private morning tours from the Airport to the Blue Lagoon with a drop-off at your hotel in Reykjavik. Please inquire about prices at iceland@icelandexcursions.is. You can also take our Airport Express Shuttle Service (www.airportexpress.is) to Reykjavik and join our Blue Lagoon tours from Reykjavik if your flight arrives in the morning hours. What are the departure times of your tours to the Blue Lagoon?
We offer three different tours that take you to the Blue Lagoon. Here are the departure times for each individual tour. How to book online as a tourist.
Making bookings through our basket is both easy and safe. Here are the steps to take: Please go to our website at www.icelandexcursions.is Choose the category „Day Tours and Sightseeing“. Choose a tour from the list of day tours. Hit the BOOK button Fill in the information requested (tour date, pick up place, number of pax) on the upper half of the booking screen. Hit the SAVE button Enter the customer information (name, email and phone number) Hit PAY button Pay for the tour with your credit card through the secure payment page that now shows up.
Do you take payment in other currencies than ISK and EUR?
Our price lists are issued in ISK and all credit cards are charged in ISK. We can take cash payments in EUR as well. Cash payments in GBP and USD are also accepted. Exchange rate: Please note that we use standardized exchange rates to calculate our prices in EUR, GBP and USD.
When do I have to book to guarantee my reservation?
By phone: When booking by phone, please book at least 1 hour before tour departure. By email: When booking by email, please book at least 90 minutes prior to tour departure. Online: Online bookings have to be made at least 90 minutes or 24 hours prior to tour departure. Please see individual tour details on deadline for that particular tour. Shorter notice: If you would like to book a tour on shorter notice, please give us a call at +354 540 1313.
Can I change my booking after I have made a reservation online?
You can change your booking up to 2 hours before tour departure. Changing a reservation is free of charge. Please contact our office per phone at +354 540 1313 or via email at iceland@icelandexcursions.is and we will be happy to make the changes for you. Please note that other policies may apply if you have made your reservation through a third party.
What is your cancellation policy?
All cancellations must be made in writing and should be sent to iceland@icelandexcursions.is. If it is not possible for you to send us your cancellation via email, please contact us by phone (+354 540 1313). All cancellations received more than 24 hours prior to tour departure are subject to a full refund. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to tour departure will be charged in full. Please note that other cancellation policies may apply if you have made your reservation through a third party.
Is Iceland Excursions a secure site?
Iceland Excursions websites provide all the security the customer needs. All transactions on the web are secured by RapidSSL encryption and the web is hosted at Xodus ehf, a leading company in the information technology sector.
Is lunch included in any of your day tours?
Lunch is not included on our Day Tours. We do make stops at around lunch time where you can purchase food and drinks. Please see individual tour descriptions on what is included in the tour price.
Minimum number of passengers?
Why do some of your tours have a minimum number of passengers? Some of our tours are so expensive in their operation that the tour operator would be loosing money to operate the tour below the minimum number of passengers given in the tour description. Which tours have a minimum number of passengers? If the tour has any minimum number of passengers it is specifically stated in the itinerary details. Can I book a tour that has a minimum number of passengers? You can book any of our Day Tours through our online reservation system. We will keep you updated and let you know if the tour can be operated or not. What happens if the minimum number of passengers is not reached for a particular tour? If the minimum number of passengers has not been reached for a particular tour we contact you and let you know. We offer you to change your reservations to another tour or to cancel the tour completely (for a a full refund).
What clothes should I wear when joining your day tours?
The weather in Iceland can change frequently. Warm clothing in layers is recommended on all tours. Please remember to bring (or wear) good walking shoes as well. Some of our tours include short hikes, which are best managed in good footwear. You may also want to consider some headwear to cover your ears in case the winds pick up.
Can I bring my own riding clothes for the horse riding tour?
You are not allowed to bring your own horse riding clothes or boots to Iceland due to the possibility of infecting the horses with foreign diseases. We provide you with the necessary helmets, overalls and boots.
Do I need to be able to ride a horse in order to join your horse riding tours?
No experience is needed in order to join our horse riding tours. Children have to be old enough to ride by themselves and that is why we recommend a minimum age of 6.

Yes we do. I´m interested in a light hiking tour - do you offer such a tour?

Are snow scooters available all year round?
Yes they are. Our AH140 Golden Circle Super Jeep tour operates all year round.
Are there seatbelts in your coaches?
All our busses/coaches are equipped with seat belts. For more information you can have a look at our safety instruction video here below. video
Do you have Children's Safety Car Seats?
Yes, we offer Children's Safety Car Seats for children from 3 months up to 6 years of age free of charge. Please book these in advance when making your reservation. We have the following 2 types of seats: Children's Safety Car Seat for 0 - 8 kg. Children' Safety Car Seat for 8 - 20 kg.

Access to Geysir geothermal area
Wordskjal með mynd: Dear customers and co-operators The Land Owners Association of Geysir is a private company owning 74,72% (176.952 m2) of the land surrounding the area where the world-famous Geysir, Strokkur and Blesi hot springs are located. The land around the hot springs is fully owned by the Icelandic state as well as 25,28% of the surrounding area (see picture). The Land Owners Association of Geysir has now decided to demand an entrance fee of ISK 600 to the area without co-operation with the Icelandic state who have protested their actions and consider it illegal. The Icelandic state question the legitimacy of the fee and are pressing charges, demanding the fee to be judged illegal and ceased immediately. The Land Owners Association of Geysir has requested tour operators and travel agencies in Iceland to charge passengers on their behalf. We at Gray Line Iceland have decided that, while there is a legal uncertainty of the legitimacy of the fee, we cannot be intermediaries. What is also important in this matter is that no VAT is included in the entrance fee even though the lawyers of the VAT department at the Directorate of Internal Revenue state that there should be. By paying the entrance fee our company would also be breaking the law of VAT in Iceland. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our passengers and sincerely hope that our customers can understand why the entrance fee is not included. We hope that the matter will be resolved as quickly as possible.
I made my reservation through a travel agency. How do I get a refund?
Please take your original voucher to the travel agency and they will issue a full refund after reconfirmation the tour cancellation with our office.

Do I get a discount if I have the Norden Voyager Card?
We offer a 10% discount for those that have the Norden Voyager Card. This discount cannot be added to the 5% online discount. The maximum discount available is 10%. If you would like to take advantage of the 10% Norden Voyager Card discount, please make your booking via email at bookings@icelandexcursions.is. Please send us the following information so that we can make the reservation for you: Tour name and number Date of travel Number of passengers (split up by senior (<67), adults and children. Please state the age of the children) Hotel name Norden Voyager Card number Your email address Your phone number Credit card details for payment purposes (card number, expiration date and CVC number) Please note that you must show us your Norden Voyager Card when you check in for your tour.
Discounts
Do you offer any discounts for children? We offer children´s discounts on most of our day tours. Please check the tour details for the discounts that apply on the particular tour. Are there any discounts available for groups? Please contact our sales office at iceland@icelandexcursions.is with your details and they will be happy to make you an offer.

Do I get a refund if any of your Northern Lights tours in Iceland cannot be operated during my stay?
The Northern Lights in Iceland are equally unpredictable as their cousins in other countries and every once in a while they decide not to reveal them selves or simply hide behind clouds. If we have to cancel any of our Northern Lights tours in Iceland we offer our customers another chance to see the Northern Lights free of charge. If Northern Lights tours are cancelled throughout your entire stay in Iceland we of course offer full refund of the trip.
My cruise ship docked late. Do I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for the fact that cruise ships dock late and you therefore do not make the tour you have booked. Please make sure your cruise ship docks before the given pick up time in the tour descriptions. If not, we recommend you do not book the tour.
What happens if I do not see Northern Lights on my tour?
We cannot guarantee sightings even if the tour is operated. In these cases passengers are offered a second departure free of charge.

If we have to cancel the Northern Lights tour due to unfavourable weather conditions we offer you a number of choices: - you can go on the tour another night (change your tour date free of charge) - you can cancel your reservation and we issue a full refund - you can choose a different day tour that costs the same.
Do you offer day tours from Reykjavik to Lake Mývatn in North Iceland?
The distance from Reykjavik City where we are located to Mývatn Lake in North Iceland is close to 500 km which equals about 300 miles. The time spent driving makes almost impossible to make there and back again in one day and for that reason we can not offer it as a part of our selection of day tours from Reykjavik. We do not offer day tours to Akureyri from Reykjavik but we offer day tours from Akureyri. Do you drop me off at my hotel after the tour?
We offer a complimentary drop off service on all tours except the AH75 Whale Watching tour from Reykjavik. Our bus drivers always asks customers where would like to be dropped off on the way back to Reykjavik. Please note that drop off after day tours may in some cases not be directly in front of your hotel guest house in Reykjavik due to narrow streets and the size of our coaches.
Do you offer transfer services to Keflavík Airport?
We offer a transfer shuttle service going from and to Keflavík Airport. Please visit www.airportexpress.is for bookings and for more information. We also offer great variety of Day Tours via the Blue Lagoon.
Do you pick me up before the tour?
Yes, we offer a complimentary pick up service at all major hotels and guesthouses in the greater Reykjavik area. Note: we do not pick up at hotels in Keflavik or at the Northern Lights Inn. Pick up starts 30 to 60 minutes prior to tour departure. Please refer to the tour details for further information on the pick up time for your tour.
I am coming to Iceland on a cruise ship and I booked a day tour with your company. Where will you pick me up?
Please provide us with the name of your cruise ship. We will make sure our pick up coaches are waiting at the harbour where your cruise ship docks.

Can I be picked up at Keflavík Airport to join your day tours?
Keflavík airport lies about an hours drive outside of Reykjavík, from where our Day tours start. We do not offer a complimentary pick up service for our day tours from the airport. You might want to consider taking a taxi or our Airport Express Shuttle Service (see www.airportexpress.is) to Reykjavík in order to join our tours.
I am a travel agency and am wondering if you pay commission on the Day Tours I book with your company?
Yes we offer all agencies a sales and commission agreement that are interested in selling our day tours. Please apply for a sales agreement by sending an email to agreements@icelandexcursions.is. Please provide the following information in your email: 1. Company address 2. Contact person 3. Email address for booking confirmations 4. Email address for rates, general information 5. estimated number og passengers to Iceland 6. Telephone and fax numbers.
Do I get commission on group bookings as a travel agency?
Please contact our group department at iceland@icelandexcursions.is. They will send you their best offer with information about commission percentages.
I am a Travel Agent. How do I access your Online Booking System?
There are 2 ways of accessing the Online Booking System. Through our company website: Go to http://www.icelandexcursions.is/ Press „Login“ button on the far right on the black menu bar at the top of the screen. Enter your login credentials in the login window that now appears. Those that were using „ext12345“ in the „old“ system, please only use „12345“ in the current system. Now you are ready to book. Please choose tour number and tour date. Then enter the departure time (if applicable), the tour language (if applicable), the pick up place and the number of passengers. You can also add extras (like Blue Lagoon bathing fee tickets) at this stage. Enter the Customer Information. Hit „BOOK!“ button Direct access to the Online Booking System: Go to http://bookings.icelandexcursions.is/Default.aspx. Enter your login credentials in the login window that now appears.
